“Economic and social consequences
of crises“
organized by the Management Institute, Warsaw University of Life Sciences
Warsaw, June 12, 2025
Dear Colleagues,
Modernly, we live in a very dynamic reality. Disruptions in the form of major or minor crises are occurring in the world. Some of them are global, and some are regional or local. Among the global crises, we can point out, among others, the COVID-19 pandemic, the impact of which affected many areas of social and economic life. The effects of the pandemic required investigation. Some of the impact was short-term, while others caused long-term changes. During the pandemic, a war broke out in Ukraine, which also resulted in a humanitarian crisis, but also in the energy market. The latest source of crises is the trade war and mutual increases in customs tariffs. This will also have serious social and economic consequences. Of course, in addition to these global crises, we must also remember about events affecting enterprises, groups of entities, or a narrow group of people. All crises have many effects. Therefore, it is necessary to collect and systematize knowledge on the economic and social effects of emerging crises.
